FUNDRAISING

<< Back to resources main page

Money  is not essential, but it can make a big difference to your campaign. Individuals wanting to influence government willingly spend their own money. So do many of those who work in community groups.

However, it pays to remember that business interests working against the community have vast sums to spend. So does government if it wants to fight the community. It is therefore often wise to build up a fund with which to cover expenses.

Fund raising also takes you and your cause out into the community where it can be seen. If what you are doing is for the benefit of the community generally, chances are that will bring you more supporters to work with you.

Here are some links that may help with fund raising. Check them out carefully yourself. We have neither checked them nor used them. If you are satisfied with what you need to do and that you will receive the money promised, they may work well for your campaign.
